Dave has some special visitors in from Milan, Italy. Pictured above are William Henry Kleckner on the right of Dave and William’s friend Thomaso on the left. They are visiting Dave in Danville, Kentucky and learning a bit about how Barbecue is done around here. William is Dave’s second cousin, but calls him “Uncle Dave.”
William is planning to set up shop, a small specialty grocery store, once he returns to Italy and plans to feature his “Uncle Dave’s” special sauces in the shop. BBQ is quite popular in Italy these days and of course it’s always better when you have family connections to the best barbecue sauce in the world, right? And Dave’s Kentucky’s Smokin’ Grill Sauce will continue to expand distribution to even more overseas locations! This sauce isn’t just famous, it’s quickly becoming World Class!
While they are here, Dave is making sure the young men see all the best that Kentucky and the surrounding areas have to offer. So far, Dave has taken them to see the Bourbon Trail, Holiday World in Indiana, A trip to Cincinnati, they have toured Dave’s packing plant, visited downtown Louisville, traveled to several Civil War sites in Kentucky, to the Second World War Memorial in Harrodsburg, to Frankfort, Cumberland Falls, and they plan to attend the family reunion upcoming on Saturday. The list of places to see and things to do keeps growing… so if you see them out and about, say hello!
In a surprising turn of events, the young men were with Dave at a Chinese buffet in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky where they met two other Milan natives who were professional tile cutters, employed by Florida Tile. It really is a small world, after all!
